In developing the Wilston Garden Room, creating an intimate link between the house and backyard space was key. Set in sunny Brisbane, maximising the natural elements of light air, and garden helped achieve this concept. Veering from the ‘traditional’ home design was an essential approach to building this residence. It involved giving closer attention to the kitchen, dining, and living areas over bedrooms and bathrooms. Vokes and Peters structured this Queenslander with an ability to develop environmentally-conscious ideas, and delivering their signature style in the process. Using Smoke from the PGH Bricks Smooth range complemented the warm, nature-conscious elements of the home, alongside face brickwork floors.
Remodelled form and function offers a more welcoming atmosphere, whilst the character of this Vokes and Peters-designed property remains uncompromised. The Wilston Garden Room boasts large openings through the home, filtering natural light into each space, and allows control of public and private spaces. With that, comfortable access is promised, ideal for a young family.
